Physical Fitness Basis to Dynamic And Creative Intellectual Activity

Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But, we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."

                                                            - President John F. Kennedy

What this quote is saying is that only, when we are healthy and well, we perform any little task to the greatest of our ability. When we are healthy we can think calmly and not have to worry about rushing, making the end result much better than originally intended to be. This quote is true. Whenever we are sick or just not feeling well, we just can't stop thinking about it. The reason we can't stop thinking about it is because it physically can harm us pulling us from our focus making us act before thinking. Another example would be when you're mad. When someone is mad they can't think straight because they immediately want to get rid of whatever is causing them rage, so sometimes they do things they wouldn't normally do when cool and calm. That is why when we are sick we need to rest and get over our sickness. When we're resting at home we don't have a nuisance that would upset us, we're just there calming down and getting better. That is why we perform our best when our body is healthy and fully functional as can be.
